Playing With A Metronome

Today's tip is about playing along with a metronome. it is important to play along with a metronome because playing the proper notes is important, but it's also important to have what we call meter. Playing with proper meter means that you are playing in time with the music. Using a metronome will help ingrain in your mind the sense of timing that you will need to play at your best. Meter is especially important when playing along with other people. If everyone is playing with different timing, the result will sound like a train wreck!

If your piano or keyboard doesn't have a built in metronome or click track, you can pick one up at any music store for cheap. It is well worth the investment of both your money and your time to purchase and practice with a metronome. I can't stress enough how important it is.
