Left Hand Chords

Today we are going to take our left hand to the next level of playing. Instead of playing single notes we are going to play chords. Let's take the same progression we used in the last lesson, C, C, F, C, D minor, G, and C. But this time, let's move the chords to the left hand and free up our right hand to play a melody.

Keep the right hand melody simple for now. Just play broken chords. Start with C, then move to F in the first inversion, back to C, D minor, move to G, then back to C. Keep playing the chords together, left hand playing full chords, right hand making a melody out of broken chords. After you get more comfortable, you can change up the melody a little bit.
