Alberti Bass

Today I want to tell you about the Alberti bass. It is a neat trick to play chords in the left hand. The trick is to play the chords as broken triads, with the pattern bottom, top, middle, top, and repeat. I first learned about the Alberti bass when I was 9 and I loved it. I even wrote a song using the technique. It was called "Nature Song" and I play it for you in the video.

Practice playing the Alberti bass using just the left hand. Practice using some of the chord progressions that you have learned so far with the Alberti bass. After you become comfortable with the pattern and it becomes intuitive for your left hand, try to add a melody with your right hand.
