Crushing Piano Notes

Now I want to talk to you about crushing piano notes. What does that mean? Well, sometimes when you are playing, the music will call for a grace note. In a grace note, the note is just briefly hit before moving on to the next and then released. When you crush the note, instead of letting off of the grace note you really jam into it.

Like other techniques of embellishment that I have taught you, this is a technique that is best used sparingly. If you do it every time, you simply erase all of the grace notes and defeat the purpose.
